Detailed Itinerary: 7 Days of Adventure and Wellbeing in Costa Rica 🏞️
Each day is carefully planned to offer you a deep immersion in the natural beauty, local culture, and most importantly, to achieve that state of physical and mental wellbeing we pursue at TOSWIM.
Day 1: April 21 – Arrival in Costa Rica and Welcome
Location: Juan SantamarĂa International Airport (SJO)
- Activities:
- Arrival and Transfer: A representative from Up Costa Rica will be waiting to transfer you to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel, located just 1.7 km from the airport, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free start.
- Welcome Dinner: A special gathering where we’ll introduce you to the week’s activities, the guides, and other participants who will share this adventure with you. The dinner will include typical Costa Rican dishes to start savoring the local culture.
Day 2: April 22 – Adventure at Arenal Volcano and Cultural Connection
Location: La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano
- Activities:
- Breakfast at the hotel at 7:00 AM, fueling up for a day full of adventure.
- Adventure Tour at Mundo Aventura Park: At 10:00 AM, we’ll head to enjoy an exciting canopy tour, soaring over the tropical forest canopy. We’ll also meet the Maleku Indigenous community, sharing a moment of cultural exchange and learning about their customs and way of life.
- Relaxing at Arenal Volcano’s Hot Springs: To end the day, we’ll unwind in the hot springs, offering a relaxing experience to align body and mind after a day of adventures.
- Dinner at the hotel and planning for the next day’s swim.
Day 3: April 23 – Swimming at Arenal Lake and Sustainability Talk
Location: East side of Lake Arenal
- Activities:
- Swimming Session at Lake Arenal: We’ll head to “El Castillo” at 8:00 AM for a unique aquatic experience under the majestic gaze of the volcano. This swim is an opportunity to feel the calm and strength of nature, helping you connect with your inner self while swimming in tranquil waters.
- Renewable Energy Talk: After lunch, Up Costa Rica will offer an educational talk about sustainability and the use of renewable energy in the region, aligned with our philosophy of eco-friendly tourism.
- Dinner and reflections on the day’s activities, followed by a plan for the next day.
Day 4: April 24 – Swimming at Arenal Lake and Transfer to the Pacific
Location: From the West side of Lake Arenal to the Gulf of Papagayo
- Activities:
- Swimming at Lake Arenal’s West Side: At 8:00 AM, we’ll do a second swim session in a spectacular natural setting, perfect for challenging your skills and continuing to develop the psychophysical balance we pursue at TOSWIM.
- Transfer to the Pacific Coast: In the afternoon, we’ll transfer to the Gulf of Papagayo, with a short break along the way to enjoy lunch and the views.
- Dinner and Local Cultural Experience: We’ll immerse ourselves in the music and dances typical of the region to continue connecting with Costa Rican culture.
Day 5: April 25 – Practice in the Gulf of Papagayo and Yoga
Location: Gulf of Papagayo, Guanacaste
- Activities:
- Practice Session in the Gulf: At 8:00 AM, we’ll dive into the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Papagayo for a guided practice.
- Yoga and Relaxation Session: In the afternoon, we’ll have a beach yoga session to strengthen both body and mind, preparing for the big crossing the following day.
- Dinner and review of the strategy for the Gulf crossing.
Day 6: April 26 – The Great Gulf Crossing
Location: Gulf of Papagayo, Guanacaste
- Activities:
- Crossing the Gulf of Papagayo: The challenge begins at 8:00 AM, with options for 5 km or 10 km, depending on your level and preference. This crossing represents the culmination of our adventure, a experience that combines physical effort, personal achievement, and the sensation of swimming in a stunning natural environment.
- Excursion to Diamante Adventure Park or Relaxation at the Beach: In the afternoon, you can choose between a final adventure on the zip line or relaxing and reflecting on the experience.
- Closing Dinner and Celebration Event: We’ll celebrate the culmination of this journey with a special dinner and event to share memories and moments.
Day 7: April 27 – Free day
